【摘要】:Tensiontests,properlyinterpreted,provideinformationwithregardtothetensilepropertiesofrigidtubing,whenemployedunderconditionsapproximatingthoseunderwhichthetestsaremade.Thetensilestrengthvaluesmayvarywiththesizeofthetubeandwiththetemperatureandatmosphericconditions.Tensiontestsmayprovidedataforresearchanddevelopmentandforengineeringdesign,andareusefulforqualitycontrolpurposes.1.1Thesetestmethodscoverthetestingofrigidtubesusedinelectricalinsulation.Thesetubesincludemanytypesmadefromfibroussheetsofbasicmaterials,suchascellulose,glass,ornylon,intheformofpaper,wovenfabrics,ormats,bondedtogetherbynaturalorsyntheticresinsorbyadhesives.Suchtubesincludevulcanizedfiberandthermosettinglaminates,aswellastubesmadefromcast,molded,orextrudednaturalorsyntheticresins,withorwithoutfillersorreinforcingmaterials.1.2Tubestestedbythesetestmethodsaremostcommonlycircularincrosssection;however,noncircularshapesarealsoincommercialuse.Totheextentthattheindividualmethodsarecompatiblewithaparticularnoncircularshape,thesetestmethodsareapplicabletotheseothershapes.Fortestsonnoncirculartubes,appropriatecommentsshouldbeincludedinthetestreport,includingdetailsoforientationoftestspecimenswithrespecttothecrosssectionofthetube.1.3Theproceduresappearinthefollowingsections:1.4Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.SIunitsinparenthesesareforinformationonly.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.Foraspecifichazardstatement,see27.1.1.
